Nicolae Romanescu Park, Craiova

Nicolae Romaenscu Park is the third largest urban park in Europe. Better known as Park Bibesku because in the past in its center was located the house of a famous Craiova family - Bibescu. In the park there is one of the oldest zoos in the country (founded in 1906). There are two lakes with islands, rivers, bridges, water cascades.

After the World War I, the construction in the city continued with an emphasis on national elements in art. In this period in Craiova was built the so-called "White House" /Casa Albă /, near one of the alleys of the English Park, - implemented in the style of London Square by the architect Konstantin Iostu. All these buildings are located in close proximity to the street Alexandru Ioan Cuza.
