Тrans-European corridor № 4 crosses the region - Dresden/Nurenberg-Prague-Vienna/Bratislava-Budapest-Craiova (Romania)-Vidin-Sofia- Thessaloniki/Plovdiv-Istanbul.

An important road is Vidin- Montana - Vratsa- Botevgrad- Sofia, which is part of the international road E 79.

Other major roads in the area are:

♦ Secondary Road II - 11 (O.p. Vidin - Dimovo) - Simeonov - Botevo - Archar - Lom - Kozlodiu - Oriahovo - Gigen - Brest - Guliantsi - (Debovo - Nikopol) , that connects the towns along the Danube river.

♦ Secondary Road II - 12 O.p. Vidin - Inovo - Bregovo - Serbia border .

♦ Secondary Road II - 14 O.p. Vidin - Kula - Vrashka chukka - Serbian border .

The Vidin-Calafat Danube Bridge

The Vidin-Calafat Danube Bridge is of key significance for the development of the Pan-European Transport Corridor ІV and for the entire South-East European Transport Axis and the Trans-European Transport network. It gives opportunities for combined transport and for transferring certain volumes of traffic from road to rail.
